Training will include information on the integration of life skills and basic skills in an instructional

program; the link between curriculum, instruction and assessment; the use of CASAS competencies

to develop priority program objectives; the selection of appropriate assessments for placement,

monitoring progress, and certification; the relationship of CASAS scale scores to CASAS Skill Level

Descriptors; planning instruction using test content, task areas, test results and content

standards/basic skills; and identifying the CASAS components that best meet the educational needs

of learners and programs.
